CERN Stores are committed to reduce their global environmental impact and do not allow themselves to be discouraged by difficulties. They strongly promote reuse whenever possible. Where paper bags to dispatch orders have proved unsuccessful, a new sustainable option has been applied: reusable plastic bags.

To extend the lifecycle of these zippered plastic bags used for dispatching orders across CERN, the Stores are implementing a "return-to-sender" policy with collection racks at the CERN Store, where they are segregated and put back into circulation.

They strongly encourage you returning these plastic bags either through the internal distribution or directly into the racks located by the emergency counter of the CERN Stores.
